Airbnb First-Timers

One of the reasons we decided to travel to Copenhagen — besides the fact that the flights were cheaper than most other European destinations — is the city’s culture. We love staying in hotels, and all the amenities that come with it (“Jumping on the bed” is the ultimate example from Evan) but felt it might prevent us from making a real connection with the city.

Airbnb seems like the perfect solution: We’ll be staying in a real Copenhagen flat in a residential neighborhood, and won’t feel like we are missing anything even if we decide to hang out at home for half the day. Plus, we can make our own meals, which means less herring sandwiches tossed onto restaurant floors.

We chatted with some friends who had great experiences using Airbnb and so we went for it. We found a beautiful flat just a short bus ride from the touristy areas that is usually occupied by a family of four. The reviews were fabulous but the photos really sealed the deal.

The children’s room has bunk beds and a nicely organized play area — perhaps it will inspire us to finish unpacking E’s room.

There’s really amazing patterns and color throughout the house — Greg will want to redecorate when we get home!

I love this open kitchen — no cabinets! And the table is so beautiful.

OK, so we went for the purdy photos — but if you read the full listing, the place sounds amazing and the owner, Trine, sounds great. Looking forward to meeting her in less than 48 hours!
