I can’t believe today is our last day here but I do think we are all ready to go home. There is so much to see and do, it’s overwhelming, even at our slow pace. I’ll probably reflect on our time here a little more later but we are all so glad we had this experience. Traveling with two small children isn’t easy but we did it, and it was so awesome to see the kids jump in and enjoy the whole experience as much as Greg and I did. The ice cream helped, I’m sure.
As for our last day in Copenhagen, we spent the early part of the day at Den Blå Planet, the country’s national aquarium.
The building itself was in the shape of a whirlpool and had lots of spaces to discover, inside and outside. It was so crowded and Greg had some things to say about the planning (or lack thereof) for this size of a crowd, but we were still able to see what we wanted to see.
The highlight was the shark/manta ray tank — you could walk through a tunnel and get a 360 view of the tank, or sit in a giant viewing gallery and eat ice cream an drink coffee while you watched a scuba diver paint (?) among the fishies. We did both.
We ended up having enough time at the end of the day to take a leisurely walk back towards the pedestrian only shopping district, ahem Lego store.
We wandered for a bit and stumbled upon a cute and minimalist neighborhood playground.
I’m so glad we got to soak it in one last time. And that the day ended with meatballs and wine 🙂
